·         U.S. stocks closed up Tuesday below their highs for the first trading session of 2017 as oil prices dropped. European stocks traded higher on Monday, driven largely by gains for banks across the board and fresh economic data that showed signs of economic strength in Italy. Federal Reserve. Asia’s equity markets ended 2016 slightly higher, despite a number of unexpected global events that had threatened to throw markets into disarray.

·         The U.S dollar is currently trading at 1.04 to the Euro; 1.22 to the Pound and will buy 118.08. Japanese Yen or 13.74 South African Rand.

·         Spot gold is currently trading at US$ 1 160.00/oz. and platinum at US$ 934.30/oz. Brent crude oil is currently trading at US$ 55.85 per barrel.
