Afrocentric IP stands for Afrocentric Intellectual Property. The name is derived from the urgency that Africa must begin to generate or create HER own Intellectual Property through innovation and begin to be in the for front of putting solutions to the world's challenges. 

There is a saying that Charity begins at home, this should be put in the context that in as much as AFRICA aspires to be the major contributor in the global village, Africa needs to be able to find solutions to Her own challenges. We believe through innovation this can be realized. 

Afrocentric IP has taken a decision to take advantage of open source powered technologies as an instrument to ICT challenges, as they promote Innovation, Integration and Interoperability.
