Founded by five partners who between them boast over 110 years of experience in manufacturing headwear and associated military accessories, Stepahead Manufacturing began trading in January 2004.

Our mission is simple. We set out to supply military and security forces around the world with the highest quality headwear and accessories, including officers caps, woollen berets and military accoutrements. We do this by using the very best wool, Melton cloth and gold wire. Today we produce a wide variety of products for armed forces in Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean islands and the Middle East.

Quality is strictly adhered to, and the 100 per cent pass rate obtained by Stepahead since our inception from the South African Bureau of Standards in the annual “capability report” inspection bears testimony to this.
